AIPAC. Crypto and AI. Real Estate. These are the forces that are backing the establishment incumbency of Jimmy Gomez in Congress in November. Angela Gonzales-Torres is trying to change all that.
After clinching her primary in June, Angela is getting to work and knocking doors to tell the district about how everything from universal healthcare to a livable wage to universal basic income and an end to supporting Israel's wars will help the working people of Los Angeles thrive.
She is an LA-born Chicana, and a lifelong community organizer with experience working around homelessness and criminal justice reform. And now with the backing of Justice Democrats and Working Families Party she wants to make California's 34th district not just more equitable but more accountable to the people.
Gomez has bucked challengers before with copious amounts of AIPAC money. This time however he's being investigated by the House Appropriations Committee for inappropriate relationships with staffers. (Mind you he was also co-chair of sex pest Eric Swalwell's failed California gubernatorial campaign.)
